چکیده

Objectives: The present study was undertaken to understand the microbiological profile, clinical presentation, associated bacteraemia and antibiogram pattern of various isolates from patients with biliary tract infection admitted in a tertiary care centre India.
Methods: In this retrospective study, Bile samples were collected adult our hospital processed as per standard protocol. results interpreted Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) 2020 guidelines. Bacterial categorised MDR PDR CDC.
 Results: 326 bile sent for aerobic culture susceptibly testing. 197 (60.42%) these culture-positive, remaining 129 (39.57%) sterile nature. A total 289 pathogens isolated; Escherichia coli (37.37 % n=108) predominant, followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae (25.60%, n=74). 170 (60.49%) resistant 111 (39.50%) susceptible drugs tested. 27 ESBL producing strains E.coli( n= 20) spp (n= 7) 21 CRE E ( 12) spp( n=9) reported . 5 Klebsiella spp. single E.coli colistin (MIC =0.5 mcg/ml) microbroth dilution test.
Conclusion: soaring rates mainly gram-negative bacteria are red flag emergence multidrug resistant organisms change anti-microbiological spectrum infections, there is an urgent need empirical prophylactic antimicrobial therapy every setting.

Pediatric urinary tract infections in a tertiary care center from north India.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Paediatric urinary tract infections (UTI) are associated with high morbidity and long term complications like renal scarring, hypertension, and chronic renal failure. A cause of occult febrile illness, they often remain undiagnosed. We studied the clinical and microbiologic profile and antibiotic resistance profile of such infections in paediatric UTI patients at our cen...

Etiological Spectrum of Portal Hypertension in Children-An Experience in a Tertiary Centre of North India

Variations in the arterial pattern of the upper limb are very common as observed in many cadaveric and angiographic studies. Knowledge of variations in the origin and course of the radial artery is important because they are used for many diagnostic procedures as well as vascular and reconstructive surgeries like coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary artery bypas...

Epidemiology of Candida blood stream infections: experience of a tertiary care centre in North India.

INTRODUCTION Bloodstream infections due to Candida species are becoming a major cause of morbidity and mortality in hospitalized patients. The spectrum of candidemia has changed with the emergence of non-albicans Candida species, especially among critically ill patients. METHODOLOGY In a retrospective study (July 2009 to December 2009) on candidemia, various Candida species isolated from bloo...

Nosocomial urinary tract infection due to Leuconostoc mesenteroides at a tertiary care centre in north India.

All the isolates were catalase-negative, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase (PYR; Sigma St. Louise, Mo) negative, resistant to vancomycin, and did not grow at 45C. All could grow in presence of 6.5 per cent NaCl and at 10C. All produced acid in sucrose, maltose, raffinose, arabinose, mellibiose, mannitol and trehalose. Six of the 12 were lactose-positive and all were xylose-negative. None of the isolates...

Microbiological profile of lower respiratory tract infections in neurological intensive care unit of a tertiary care center from Central India

BACKGROUND Lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI's) are the most frequent infections among patients in intensive care units. The consequences of increased drug resistance are far reaching since bacterial infection of the lower respiratory tract (LRT) is a major cause of death from infectious disease. OBJECTIVE The study was conducted with the aim of determining the bacterial etiology of LR...
